Avalon Milky

What it says on the tin, Avalon Milky is less translucent than Misty, but not opaque. Last Pic for direct comparison. 🙂🙂🙂

Avalon Misty on the top half, Milky on the bottom.

CiM Limeade

Limeade is a very yellowish green, and a cloudy transparent. I did have some shocking, although not so bad I couldn't work. I did melt up the shocked pieces on a blob of clear to make the spiral horn.

Good color for spring. 😉

It is similar to Chirp, which was a very small batch, but less shocky and a little greener.

CiM 584 Starry Night

A streaky blend with blue, that almost appears to fume and go greenish, like there is some silver in the base color.

I'm not quite sure what I think of it, except I probably would have liked there to be more blue. Which is kind of my rule for life anyway. 😋

This one has limited availability - you'll have to go to Ed Hoy for it if you want it.

CiM Avalon Misty

 CiM Avalon Misty

I think that Creation is Messy's move to naming the misty and milky opals with the name of the variant, instead of a new name is smart. The less I have to remember, the better. 🙂🙂🙂

This is Avalon Misty, and I have Avalon Milky yet to test. But I don't want to get them mixed up in the kiln, so that's for another day.

CiM 733 Burnt Sugar and CiM 734 Brown Eyed Girl.

CiM 733 Burnt Sugar and CiM 734 Brown Eyed Girl.

Two transparent browns, yet very different. Burnt Sugar is a peachy, warm brown. Brown-eyed Girl is a yellowish, cool brown.

The cluster of pieces in the pictures with the oval shape is the Brown eyed Girl. Both are super interesting, nice colours. I think I prefer the burnt sugar, because I find the warmth of it more welcoming.🤎🤎🤎😲

CiM 939 Pink Pansy

CiM 930 Pink Pansy
A happy transparent pink 💗 in the cranberry family 👪.  It has the slightly  warm cast to it that some call livery, and others call butterscotch.  I'd rather have butterscotch over liver any day unless we are talking internal organs, in which case,  I will stick with my liver. Lol.

As you can see from the pics, the color and angle of the light make a big difference in how it looks.

😉🙂🙂

CiM 226 Orange-zilla

CiM 226 Orange-zilla

Big, bold, almost opaque, juicy, juicy, orange. Go to last photo to compare with the other two new CiM oranges, Kniphoia and Marmalade

CiM 834G Clear/Glow in the Dark

CiM 834G clear /glow in the dark

This is a glow in the dark like a chocolate chip cookie. Clear, with visible chunks of "glow."

That lack of control where the glow goes might make some people crazy. But it's still kind of fun. You would get glow spots in random places.

I didn't have any problem with this shocking

CiM 327 Scotch Broom

CiM 327 Scotch Broom.
A super vibrant yellow. As you can see, I  got a lot of opacity in it from the  heating and cooling cycles. Really vivacious color! 🍋🍋🍋🥰🥰🥰

CiM 227 Marmalade and CiM 225 Kniphoia

CiM 227 Marmalade and CiM 225 Kniphoia (named for the red hot poker plant, in case you missed the reference). ;-)

Both  are absolutely brilliant, delicious, transparent oranges.  Of the two clusters, the Marmalade is the one with the little fish, and the Kniphoia is the one with the round disc.

I  did find that the Marmalade took a little more effort to strike, and you might argue that it is a little toasty in colour. Overall though I think any colour difference between them, at least the way I use them, is very very subtle. Both are a delicious splash of transparent orangey goodness.  Yum! 🍊🍊🍊😍😍😍

odd lot of rubino maybe?

No, I don't know what colour this is. I've never seen anything else like it. It's in a package labelled 456,  Which would make it Rubino oro, ruby gold. But did you ever see a batch of rubino that looked like this?

The rods are a plum opal translucent colour, and you can see that it opacified a little with work and there's even a hint of devitrification, speaking to Rubinos big sister evil devitrifying purple.

The package is so old, it calls it Moretti. I have about 3 rods left. Then that is it. Finito.  💔
